On Saturday, June 1, 2019 Judy Margaret Turner, loving mother, grandmother and sister, passed away at age 70.
Judy was born on February 4, 1949 in Killam, Alberta to Howard and June Rombough. Raised in Sedgewick, her family moved to Calgary in 1960. She attended the University of Calgary graduating with a Bachelor of English and went on to receive a teaching certificate from the University of Alberta. Following her graduation, Judy married Fred Turner in 1971 and together they welcomed their sons Danny (1974) and Greg (1976) into their family.
Judy was passionate in her support to help others improve themselves through her work as a business coach. She was a great lover of the outdoors, spending long summer days at 'the cabin' on Kooteney Lake. Music also played a big part in her life, both listening to her favorite Beatles albums and also spending time teaching the organ to local kids and adults
Judy was preceded in death by her father, Howard, and her mother, June. She is survived by her two sons, Danny, his wife Miranda and their sons Alek and Leo; and Greg and his wife Ying; her sister Verna (Ken) and two brothers Gary and Brian (Gerry) together with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and former spouse, Fred.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1pm on Friday, August 23rd, 2019 at the Alto-Reste Cemetery outside Red Deer followed by a Celebration of Life gathering at the Heritage Ranch at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made to either the Alzheimer's Society or Covenant Health Foundation.
