SAMUEL Julia "Iris" March 2, 1930 - July 20, 2009 It is with heavy hearts and immense sadness that we announce the passing of Iris Samuel on Monday July 20th, 2009 at the Cross Cancer Institute with her loving family by her side. Iris is survived by her devoted husband and best friend Haydn, daughters Janice Mercer (Bill) and Terry White (Jim) and son in law Ken Knight. Iris's memory will also be cherished by her grandchildren Rob, Angie, Chelsey, Samantha, Cassy, Keegan, Rebecca and great grandchildren, Haley, Devon and Shelby. She is also survived by her sister Marg, brother Gary and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeced by her daughter Kim and son Mike. Iris's laughter, wit and wonderful sense of humor touched all that knew her. She treasured her time spent with her family and friends. She enjoyed gardening, Tai Chi, Yoga and a challenging bridge game with the "bridge gang". "Wherever a beautiful soul has been, there is a trail of beautiful memories" A memorial service will be held at the Red Deer Funeral Home and Crematorium, 6150 - 67 Street, Red Deer, on Friday, July 24th at 2:00 pm.
