In loving memory ~
Kenneth 'Duane' Martin of Red Deer, Alberta, passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at the age of 92 years. Duane was born in Kindersley, Saskatchewan, and he married Dolores Kool in 1954. They moved, as his Oilfield job required, having their children along the way. Settling in Red Deer, he was an avid Oilers and Roughriders fan, who loved watching sports, especially those of his grandchildren.
Duane was an active member of Deer Park Alliance Church, an avid camper and reader, he always had a joke, a witty response and a nickname for everyone he knew. Duane was fortunate to have retired early in life and dedicated his time to "all things family". Duane will be lovingly remembered by his children, Jeff (Loretta), Jim (Lynn) and Jana (Scott); his grandchildren, Tanya Martin (Luis Quinteros), Dayna Power (Alex), Jilaine Porterfield (Louis); and his great grandchildren, Antonio, Ezekiel, Ellis and Clark.
Duane was predeceased by his wife and best friend, Dolores in 2003 and a grandson, Robert Martin in 2022.
A special thanks to Dr. Larue and the Nursing Staff of Unit 23 for their kind and compassionate care.
A Celebration of Duane's Life will be held at a later date.
"I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die." John 11:25
