We knew her as Weebles, falling down was not in her character. She was capable of making you cry or laugh in under five words - something we came to know as emotional Haiku. Karen always said cancer was never going to beat her because she was going to take it down with her - and she went the distance. She was defined by her courage, humor, tenacity, love and compassion. As a professional, her career and life was dedicated to improving the lives of Albertans through AISH, VRRI, CSRS and Carewest. On behalf of Karen and her clan, we thank the staff and volunteers at Wellspring in Calgary, Tom Baker Cancer Center and Rockyview Hospital - Unit 94.
A celebration of her life will be held Thursday January 12 at 1:00 pm at the First Assembly Church in Calgary - 6031 Elbow Drive SW, Calgary, Alberta.
