CORNELL Katherine Jennie Cornell passed away on October 14, 2004 at the age of 89 years. She was born in Butler, Kentucky, USA on April 19, 1915. Katherine is survived by son, Delbert (Donna) Cornell of Creston, BC; daughters, Joyce (Alvin) Reierson of Wainwright, AB and Linda (Leonard) Swartz of Clive, AB; granddaughter, Beverley Krywiak and her three daughters of St. Albert; grandsons, Kelvin (Laurie) Reierson and son and daughter of Edmonton, Harley Swartz and three sons of Edmonton, Stan (Lisa) Swartz and their son of Edmonton; granddaughter, Heather Cornell and grandson Chris Cornell both of Creston. She was predeceased by son Raymond in 1975 and first born infant son Wayne, 6 months. She was one year old when her parents moved to Cereal, AB to homestead at the Blood Indian Area. As a girl she was happy spending many hours herding sheep, using her horse as shade from the hot sun. Katherine married Roy Cornell when she was 21. They moved to Barrhead, then in 1956 they moved to Drayton Valley where she resided until 1996 when she moved to Edmonton to live with her daughter Linda and son-in-law Leonard. In 2002 she moved to a lodge in Lacombe to be near Linda and Leonard. She loved cats, birds and all animals, flowers and gardening. She enjoyed camping with the Swartz Gang and friends. Funeral services will be held from Wilson's Funeral Chapel Lacombe on Wednesday October 20, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the Clive Cemetery.
