WAKEY
1957 - 2014
Our world suddenly and immediately changed in the morning of April 22, 2014, when our beloved wife and beautiful mother Katherine Judith Wakey left us far too soon. Kathy was the keystone at the centre of her family. Soft and kind but never weak, her strength was boundless and unending. She was warm and welcoming, her heart and her home always open to friends and vagabonds alike. She was at her best when surrounded by family or friends, basking in the summer sun on her country patio. She was a lover of animals and a lover of books. She wanted more for us all, and gave us all more than we could ever imagine. She lives on in the soul of her devoted husband, Dean, her two children Michael and Carmen, her two brothers and three sisters, her in-laws and extended family, her cherished caregivers and every other person who had the privilege of knowing her.

It don't seem fair - today just disappeared
Your light's reflected now, reflected from afar
We were but stones; your light made us stars
In following with Kathy's wishes, no service will be held. Memorial donations to the Red Deer and District S.P.C.A., 4505 - 77 Street, Red Deer AB T4P 2J1 in Kathy's name are encouraged in lieu of flowers.
