Katherine

1972 - 2014

It is with great sorrow, that the family of Katherine 'Kathy' Ruth Ruddick, announces her passing at home, surrounded by love, with her family by her side on Sunday, July 6, 2014 at the age of 42 years. Kathy was a wonderful and loving daughter, sister, auntie and friend. She lived in Timmins, Ontario until 1981, when the family moved to Red Deer. She spent her teen years in Red Deer, then finished High School in Mississauga, Ontario and later moved back to Alberta to attend the Lethbridge College in Lethbridge, Alberta. Kathy then made her home in Red Deer where she worked for Titan Electric/Flint Energy and then spent the past ten years employed in the Financial Services Division at Red Deer College. Kathy will be remembered for her infectious smile and laid back, easy going attitude. She loved to have a good time, enjoying trips and travels with her many friends. The memories of family trips to Canmore and Pigeon Lake, ski trips and rocking out at concerts will always be in our hearts. Kathy will be lovingly remembered by her mother and father, Kathrine and Harry Ruddick of Red Deer, her sisters, Karen (Tim Langevin) of Red Deer, Tracey (Lyle Schumacher) of Sherwood Park, Alberta and Kimberly (Kevin Lalonde) of Oakville, Ontario. She will also be greatly missed by her nieces and nephews, Ryan and Justin Langevin, Christian, Alison and Bryce Schumacher and Lexia Lalonde; as well as her many close friends and her feline friend of sixteen years, Miss Minn. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 6 McMillan Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta on Friday, July 11, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will take place at the Alto Reste Cemetery, Red Deer, Alberta at a later date. The family would like to acknowledge and thank the doctors, nurses and home care nurses for their care and compassion; as well as thank Kathy's wonderful friends and co-workers for their support during her illness.
