Kind, thoughtful, and always believing the best about everyone, our beloved Kathleen Elizabeth Lougheed has gone to be with God, July 17, 2020. She was 86 years old.
Kathy loved life. She loved her family and loved to help children and people. An avid reader herself, Kathy spent many years teaching reading to young children in the public school system and sharing her love of literacy with new Canadians. Kathy had a gift for enjoying life to the fullest. Her passions included dogs, reading, art and chocolate. An inspiration to us all, Kathy will be greatly missed.

Kathy will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Bert, of 62 years; daughters: Kathleen (Raynald) Mercier, grandsons Marc-Andre, Mario of Nanaimo; Patty (Terry) Freestone, grandchildren Katheryn, Ben of Calgary; Trudy (Marc) Gressler, grandchildren Jacob, Rhiannon and Ian of Drayton Valley; also her beloved sister Joan (Elmer) Allen, niece Susan and children Brody and Brandon (Jon), nephew Dan and cousin Georgia Brown.
Kathy's funeral will be private and take place at Gaetz United Church, July 27 at 2:00 p.m. The service will be live streamed on the Facebook page Life Celebrations With Gaetz United.
