LUBCHENKO Katie 1934 - 2008 The passing of Mrs. Katie B. Lubchenko, age 74 years of Saskatoon, SK occurred on Sunday, August 10, 2008. Katie is survived by her two sons, Perry (Lisa) of Saskatoon, SK, and Dean (Tracy and her daughter, Jaelyn) of Red Deer, AB; five grandchildren, Gage, Cole, Katia, Dexter, and Adrik; six sisters, Betty Funk of Kamloops, BC, Mary Karpenko of Meadow Lake, SK, Carol Petit of Montreal, PQ, Lena Danilkowich of Saskatoon, SK, Jean (George) Leschuk of Meadow Lake, SK, Rose (Clarence) Shebelski of Saskatoon, SK; one brother, Tony Korchinski of Cudworth, SK; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Willis Lubchenko; her parents, Mr. Joseph and Mrs. Polly (Boris) Korchinski; her brothers, Mike Korchinski, John Korchinski, and Andrew Korchinski; and her sister, Helen. Katie was an inspiration to all who knew her. She was loving, caring, generous, and incredibly selfless. This was evident in all aspects of her life; from the way she cared for her family to the meticulous manner in which she cared for her beautiful home and garden. As an avid naturalist, Katie loved the outdoors, especially camping and fishing. She was renowned for cooking wonderful meals, telling stories and she cared deeply for those she spent time with. She always seemed to be smiling or laughing, and wanted her family to be happy above all else. More than anything, Katie will be remembered for her love of family, which will be carried on through the traditional values that she encompassed and instilled in those around her. The Memorial Service will be held from Park Funeral Chapel, 311 Third Avenue North, Saskatoon, SK on Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Interment of Katie's remains will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery, Saskatoon, SK.
