LEIER

Keith Joseph

Sept. 6,1941 - Sept. 8, 2014

It is with great sadness that the family of Keith Joseph Leier announce his sudden passing on Monday September 8, 2014 in Red Deer, AB. Keith passed away at the age of 73 in failing health. He will be lovingly remembered by his son, Les of Richmond BC, daughter Mona (Darren) of Innisfail, AB and his three cherished grandchildren, Brandyn, Rael and Alyson. Keith enjoyed his days following hockey, football and curling. He was known to go fishing at any opportune moment, his small engine repair skills and relished watching his grandchildren grow up, before him. Keith was born in Allan, SK and completed his early schooling in Oyama, BC then his family moved back to Saskatchewan to Edgewater, Mildred and Shell Lake. He enjoyed farm life but the oilfield called him and he joined Halliburton in 1964 and retired after 24 years. He then started his own business and passion, KJ's Pilot and Hot Shot in 1993. Upon retirement, Keith continued to enjoy coffee time with his friends, reading, fishing and keeping tabs on his Habs and Saskatchewan Roughriders. The funeral service will be held at the Sacred Heart Church, Red Deer, Alberta, on Sept. 12 at 1pm. In honor of Keith, in lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to The Dialysis unit at the Red Deer Hospital.
