It is with great sadness that the family of Skip Murphy wishes to announce his passage into glory on September 2, 2022. After a short battle with cancer Skip unexpectedly passed away at home in his sleep at the age of 77 years.
Skip will be lovingly remember and missed by his wife of 55 years, Darlene, his 4 children, Karen (Greg) Lightburn, Sharon Keim (Jamie Dawe), Douglas (Crystal) Murphy, and Wayne (Lori) Murphy. He will also be forever cherished by his grandchildren and great grandchildren whom he held very close to his heart. Cole (Nicole), Nixen; Jordyn (Danny Nolan), Kacey, Andie, Aiden; & Wade Lightburn. Maia (Shane Fenger), baby; Jayda; Abbey & Cael Keim. Calvin; Reina; Walker; & Nadelle Murphy. Ross; Evan; & Cali Murphy.
Celebration of Life will be held at Crossroads Church at 1pm on Friday September 9, 2022, located at the southwest corner of 32 Street and Highway 2 Red Deer. Live streaming of the service can be found at: https://www.crossroadschurch.ca/livefunerals
Family and close friends are welcome to join us from 9am-10am Friday September 9, 2022 at Wilson's Funeral Chapel and Crematorium, Lacombe for viewing with interment to follow at 10:30am at Blackfalds Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made to the work of the Dream Centre in downtown Red Deer bringing hope with a Christ centered live-in drug and alcohol recovery centre; 35-37411 Waskasoo Ave. Red Deer County, AB T4S 1Y2.
