Kenneth Alvin Doel of Caroline, Alberta passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the Innisfail Hospital and Care Centre on July 5, 2014 at the age of 66 years. Ken was born March 18, 1948 in Red Deer to Ronald and Mollie Doel of Caroline. Ken was a loving Son, Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Friend and Volunteer. Ken did his schooling in Caroline. Following High School Ken worked various careers throughout his life including the oilfield, Alberta Wheat Pool, self employed in residential construction and with Alpha Dairies. In 1994 Ken fulfilled a lifelong passion when he moved back to Caroline to work the family farm with his Dad. During this time he also started working for Jasman Power Tongs where he continued both these loves until his passing. Ken always enjoyed giving back to his community volunteering in many capacities through the years with community associations and minor hockey, as well as always willing to help a friend or neighbour in need. Ken will be lovingly missed by his wife Marjorie Atkinson-Doel; 5 children Lisa Scholz (Mickey) of Rocky Mountain House; Darin Doel of Penhold; Kyle Atkinson of Red Deer; Shane Doel of Calgary; and Ryan Doel (Nonnee) of Penhold; 6 grandchildren, Jessie Rae Scholz (Fraser Clarke) of Red Deer; Michelle Radke of Sherwood Park; Shelbie Scholz (Brandon Degroot) of Rocky Mountain House; Aiden Doel of Innisfail; Makenna Doel of Innisfail; and Ariann Rosentreter-Doel of Penhold; 2 Great Grandchildren, Emmett Clarke of Red Deer and Jax DeGroot of Rocky Mountain House; his father Ronald Doel of Caroline; Sisters Ilene (John) Bugbee of Caroline and Loretta (Tim) Kennedy of Airdrie; as well as numerous Sister-in-laws, Brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Ken was also predeceased by his mother Mollie Doel and granddaughter Kyla Megan Graham-Doel. A Celebration of Ken's life will be held at the Church of the Nazarene (4803-50 Street, Caroline, AB) on July 15, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Memorial Donations in Ken's memory can be made to the Ronald McDonald House of Central Alberta or Kid Sport Red Deer.
