Kenneth Duncan

October 23, 2020

December 3, 1940 - October 23, 2020
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Kenneth 'Ken' George Duncan of Red Deer, Alberta on Friday, October 23, 2020 at the age of 79.
Ken was born in Nordegg, Alberta on December 3, 1940. He was raised in the small mining town by Serena (D'Amico) and Robert Duncan until the age of 16 where Ken and his family packed up and moved to Calgary to begin their new lives.
Ken joined the RCMP in 1962 and retired in 1989 where he enjoyed time in various cities and townships such as Cloverdale, Chetwynd, Quesnel, Richmond (Airport Special Squad and Undercover Drug Section), Fort St. John, Sylvan Lake, Red Deer, and then to his final posting in Edson.
He then joined the Court and Prisoner Services (Red Deer, then Calgary) for 18 more years until he fully retired at the age of 67. He also enjoyed a long career in Senior Men's Hockey where he won the Western Canadian Championships twice in the '60's with the Quesnel Kangaroos. Ken was also a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion.
In 2017, Ken moved to Red Deer to be with his two sons full time. Ken will be lovingly remembered by his two sons and their spouses, George Duncan and Nikki Lexel, Jamie Duncan and Rhianne Weghnnar; his sister Phyllis Duncan (her children Kevin and Wendy), his brother and his spouse Bob and Debbie Duncan (their children Kasey and Ryan), Ken's grandchildren, Lilith and Sydney, as well as many many others.
A Celebration of life will be held in Nordegg in the late spring or early summer, and we will send out the details when they are finalized.
