In 2004, Kent attained his Paramedic Licence and then joined the City of Red Deer Emergency Services in 2007, where he worked as a FireMedic.

Kent was compassionate, professional and selfless, when it came to protecting and caring for his patients. Kent’s greatest joy in life was his two children. He would would have done just about anything for them. Kent brought out the best in people with his infectious laugh, and his compassion for those around him.
