KLEMENS 1984 - 2008 Mr. Waldemar Klemens of Vancouver, British Columbia, formerly of Red Deer, Alberta, passed away suddenly as a result of a tragic accident on Sunday, November 16th, 2008 at the age of 24 years. From a very young age Waldemar had a passion for automobiles that begin with building model cars, attending European races, and driving in Kart racing events while growing up in Germany. In the summer of 2008, Waldemar was able to fulfill his dream of racing on the Nürburgring Nordschleife racetrack in Germany, while visiting his family with his brother Thomas. His love of all things mechanical, lead him to pursue a career in Mechanical Engineering. At the age of sixteen, his family moved to Red Deer Alberta, where Waldemar completed high school at Lindsay Thurber. After obtaining honors from SAIT Polytechnic in Calgary, Waldemar continued his education at Lakehead University. He graduated in May of 2008 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He then accepted a position as a field engineer for Peter Kiewit and Sons, and moved to Vancouver with his long time girlfriend Cassandra. Waldemar loved to play and watch soccer, Formula One and DTM racing, his mkII Golf GTI, traveling, collecting model cars and spending time with his family and friends. Waldemar has blessed and changed the lives of many people. Although passed away, he will be greatly missed, loved and always be in our hearts thus never forgotten. Schlaf in Frieden und Geborgenheit. Waldemar is survived by his parents Konstantin and Katharina Klemens of Red Deer, one brother Thomas Klemens of Red Deer, Cassandra Rotar of Vancouver, British Columbia and his beloved grandparents. As well as numerous family members in Germany. A Funeral Service for the late Mr. Waldemar Klemens will be held at the Lutheran Church Of The Good Shepherd, 40 - Holmes Street, Red Deer, Alberta on Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. Memorial donations in Waldemar's honor may be directed to the Canadian Cancer Society, 4730A Ross Street, Red Deer, Alberta, T4N 1X2.
