KOSTIUK Mr. William (Bill) Kostiuk of Red Deer, beloved husband of Stella passed away on December 20th, 2005 at the age of 86 years. Bill was born and raised on the family farm in Redfield, Saskatchewan. At the age of 14 he met a young 8 year old girl who later became the love of his life. Bill joined the army in 1942 and served in Canada. Bill married Stella Kzyzyk, " the love of his life" in 1944. He worked for the Sask. Dept. of Highways for 33 years while living in North Battleford, SK. serving a number of roles he was proud of. Bill and Stella moved to Penticton, BC in 1992 before settling to Red Deer in 1994. Bill was a problem solver, he could always figure out the problems. He loved to see things through to their finish. He could build anything and was talented with his hands, this included the building of a closed cutter he and Stella traveled in years ago. Bill was always very considerate and willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. Bill cherished his family and was very proud of them. Bill is survived by his loving wife, Stella of 62 years, three daughters; Patricia Vogt of Georgetown, ON, Judy (Jerry) Yakymchuk of Norville, ON and Sandy (Randy) Usselman of Red Deer, AB. His memory will be treasured by his grandchildren; Stuart and Lisa Vogt, Jordana and Jason Yakymchuk, Michael (Desiree) McMillan- Usselman as well as three great grandchildren; Jordan Brown, Cayla and Maddex McMillan- Usselman. His memory will be further treasured by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members who were all very dear to him. Bill was predeceased by his parents, John (Dora) Kostiuk, his brothers, John, Steve and Dymtro as well as his sister, Mary Kormish. A Prayer Service will be held at Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, 6287 - 67A Street, Red Deer, AB on Monday, December 26th, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. with David (Cathy) Bouchard reciting. Funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 5508-48A Avenue, Red Deer, AB on Tuesday, December 27th, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. with Father Don Stein, Celebrant. Those wishing to pay their respects to the late Mr. Bill Kostiuk may gather for a time of visitation at the Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium at 6:00 p.m. prior to prayers or at Sacred Heart Catholic Church the hour preceding the Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, December 27, 2005.
