MCARTHUR

Larry

1938 - 2014

Mr. Larry Richard McArthur passed away with his family by his side, at the Red Deer Hospice on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at the age of 75 years. Larry was born on December 3, 1938 at Debolt, Alberta. He was a man filled with passion, an enduring zest for life and all the beauty and joy it had to offer. Larry loved the outdoors; he spent his time fishing, golfing and was daring enough to try out new adventures such as Kite Water Skiing. Larry also had a Special 'Tomato House' that he tended and was extremely proud of. He was a member of the Red Deer Golf and Country Club for over forty-five years and was a generous and strong supporter of his community. Larry was a true entrepreneur and enjoyed being the owner of the East 40th Pub in Red Deer for twenty-five years. He spent time at his second home in Palm Springs and was known for playing a very "flavorous" Blues Guitar. His warm sense of humor was apparent in his joke telling and carefree spirit. Larry loved his family, his grandchildren and his great grandchildren dearly. They were the pride and joy of his heart. Larry will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered and cherished in the hearts of his family and many lifelong friends. Larry leaves to mourn his wife, Sherry; his children, Bob McArthur, Tari Klein (Vern), Tracy Teron (Daryl) and Darren McArthur (Jan); his eight grandchildren, Courtney (Ryan), Chase, Blair (Cassandra), Taylor (Mickey), Brady, Jesse, Teona and Ty and his two great grandsons, Brayden and Cruz. He will also be sadly missed by the mother of his children, Marilyn McArthur, his step-mother, Mary Ferris, mother-in-law, Peggy Coates; as well as his brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews and a host of dear friends. Larry was predeceased by his mother, Eleanor MacArthur, his father, Webb Ferris, a granddaughter, Teagan Klein and a daughter-in-law, Bonny McArthur. A Service to honor and remember Larry will be held at CrossRoads Church, Corner of 32 Street and Highway 2, Red Deer County, Alberta on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations in Larry's honor may be made directly to the Red Deer Hospice at: www.reddeerhospice.com.
