September 18, 1933 - November 20, 2018
It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of our beloved Laura Doreen (Lancaster) McNaughton at the age of 85 years.

She was surrounded by her loving family and died peacefully after a difficult illness.

Laura was born Sept. 18th, 1933 in Bluesky, Alberta to Laura and Fred Lancaster, the second youngest of seven children.

Laura lived an authentic life of adventure, deep faith, joy, generosity, service, laughter, abiding love and fullness. She was a loving wife, mother-in-law, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, friend, teacher, volunteer, Girl Guide Leader, writer, singer, spiritual seeker, fabric artist, justice-seeker, ice cream connoisseur, environmentalist, dancer, scrabble champion, and faithful pilgrim.

She is greatly missed by her loving husband of 61 years, Gordon, her children Lynne (Gerald) of Vancouver, Alan (Marie) of Calgary, David of Edmonton and Laureen of Cochrane, and her grandchildren, Elizabeth, Anne, Carol, Siera, Fynley, Alex and Evan (and many former students and Guides who called her "Mom"!).

She will also be missed by her surviving siblings, Jessie, Max and Bill and her many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Laura's life will be held on Tuesday, November 27th at 1:00 p.m. at St. Leonard's Anglican Church, 4241 44th St., Red Deer.

In Laura's honour and in lieu of flowers, we invite you to donate to an Environmental Charity of your choice or take a friend out for ice cream.
