LAVIGNE - ASHLEY DAWN We deeply mourn the tragic passing of Ashley Dawn Lavigne on October 9th, 2006 at the age of twenty - five years. Ashley is survived by: Lloyd Lavigne (her father) and Teresa, Aaron Leckie, Kellsey Leckie, Elizabeth Seewalt (her mother) and William Laws, Bethann Lavigne (her sister) and Miles Barlow, Joshua Lavigne (her brother), Roland Lavigne (her grandfather) and Wanda, Nancy Lavigne - Ferri (her grandmother) and Garth Ferri, Rita Seewalt-Stang (her grandmother) and Mark Stang, along with many uncles, aunts and cousins. Ashley was predeceased by her infant daughter, Emiley Elizabeth, Raymond Seewalt (her grandfather), Albert Lavigne ( her uncle), and Anthony Lavigne (her uncle), Don Johnson (her partner). We feel very honored to have the opportunity to tell you a little about Ashley our daughter. Ashley Dawn Lavigne was born September 8th 1981 to proud parents Elizabeth and Lloyd in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Ashley was the middle child coming after her older sister, Bethann and before her younger brother, Josh. She started her schooling in Saskatoon but at age 13 her family moved to Lloydminster and she attended St. Thomas and later went over to Holy Rosary where she graduated in 2000. After graduation, she attended Lakeland college. Upon completing two years of this program, tragedy struck when Ashley and Mike Maguire's baby daughter, Emiley Elizabeth passed away on March 29th 2003. In 2004 Ashley moved to Alix, Alberta and then to Red Deer where she lived with Don Johnson. She then decided to enroll in a two year program Early Childhood Development and received her Diploma from Red Deer College on June 3rd 2006. Ashley had just enrolled at the Canadian Christian College in Lacombe, Alberta to complete her education degree in September 2006. Ashley loved children and with her spunk and enthusiasm would have been a wonderful teacher. Ashley had a warm, magnetic personality and always wore a smile on her beautiful face. I am sure Ashley's friends and relatives all recall how Ashley loved to talk. When you phoned their house and Ashley answered you knew you would be on the phone for a good hour or more. Ashley enjoyed spending time with her family. Bethann, Josh and Ashley often got together to go camping, skiing or just hang around. One of the saddest events in life is to lose a child and right now Elizabeth and Lloyd are experiencing this. Ashley also experienced the loss of her child, Emiley Elizabeth on March 29th 2003. Ashley often came across as a person that accepted all knocks in life with a smile but we know behind that smile her heart must have been hurting immensely. A celebration of Ashley's life was held on October 13th 2006 at St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church officiated by Father Jan Sobkowicz with the internment at the Lloydminster City Cemetery. Ashley's maternal aunt Lucy Gibbs, thank you for the heart warming eulogy. The active pallbearers included some of Ashley's cousins: Marcel Seewalt, Christopher Seewalt, Ryan Ferron, Zane Tymchak Jr., Christopher Bertsch, Ryan Lavigne, Robert Hickson and Justin Lavigne. Honorary pallbearers include all of the many friends and family who loved Ashley. Words cannot describe how much Ashley will be missed.
