Leander SPOHN

SPOHN Leander "Lee" Spohn of Red Deer passed away peacefully at home on April 13, 2006 at the age of 82 years. Lee will be lovingly remembered but sadly missed by his six children; Brent (Shelley Carlen) Spohn of Nanaimo, B.C., Sandra (Eb Mueller) Nelson of Edmonton, Gail Gonda of Calgary, Janet (Kevin) Murphy of Edmonton, David Spohn of Edmonton, and Elizabeth Spohn of Calgary, two stepsons; John (Marie-Jose) of Brussels, Belgium and Bob Day of Calgary, ten grandchildren, one brother Don Spohn, three sisters; Tilley Zimmel, Margaret Leeb and Bertha Rokaz, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In his childhood on the farm and as a young man serving overseas with the armed forces in WWII, Lee was known as an engaging character with a wild streak and a sense of humour. Lee settled in Red Deer with his young family where he became a well respected member of the farming and business community. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Red Deer on Thursday, April 20, 2006 at 10:30 a.m., with Father Paul Kavanagh, Officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Lee Spohn may be made directly to the Heart and Stroke Foundation (101 - 5208-53 Avenue, Red Deer, AB T4N 5K2) A Private Family Interment will follow.
