Lech 'Alec' Grefner

December 16, 1932 - November 15, 2022
Lech passed away peacefully at home on November 15, 2022 with his family by his side.
He was born in Poznan, Poland to Anna and Boleslaw Grefner on December 16, 1932, with his big sister, Wanda, to welcome him.
His family immigrated to Canada in the early 1950's and he joined them in 1957.
He married Nancy in 1970 and they moved to Yellowknife from Ontario, then Edmonton, and finally to Red Deer where Lech worked at Alpha Dairy for several years, as an accountant.
He was predeceased by his beloved son Michael (2012), his parents and his step-father, Igor Gruca, sister and brother-in-law, Wanda and Jurek Moszynski, and his nephew's wife, Josephine Moszynski.
Lech is survived by his wife, Nancy, his daughter Katie (Barry Deley) and their children, Eden, Joseph and Angelise, his daughter Maggie (Damian La Grange) and their children Damian Jr., Gabe, Jonas, Lucas and Evan, his nephew, Jacek Moszynski and family, and his nephew, Jeszek Moszynski and family.
The family is grateful to Red Deer Emergency Services, Red Deer Regional Hospital emergency staff, and the Red Deer Palliative Home Care nurses. We also thank our family and friends for their prayers and support.
Funeral Mass will be held Monday, November 21, 2022 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Parish, 6 McMillian Ave, Red Deer, Alberta.
