May 7, 2009

LEISCHNER - Eugene Jan. 12, 1958 - May 2, 2009 It is with mixed emotion we announce the passing of Eugene (Gene) Leischner. We will miss him immensely, but we celebrate his going home to be with the Lord. He was born and raised in Trochu, graduated and moved to Red Deer, where he was employed briefly as a carpenter. He then started with Nowsco Well Service where he found his true passion. He loved the oil patch and worked hard to excel. In 1981 Gene transferred to Wooster, Ohio. This would be the start of several moves. He lived in Kentucky, Alabama, West Virginia, Michigan, Texas, West Virginia, Grande Prairie and a brief stint in Europe. In 2000 he came home to Red Deer and started to work for Trican Well Service as a Frac Coordinator. In November, 2006, he became ill and his body was unable to recover, passing away peacefully on May 2, 2009. He is survived by his children, Landon (Felicia), Kyle, Alan, of Columbia, Kentucky, siblings Doris, Garry (Debbie), Reed (Marianne), nieces and nephews, Alora, Daulton, Jared, Brant, Lindsay (Dave), Tyler, Amanda (Cecil). Predeceased by Mom and Dad (Irene and Howard Leischner). Special thanks to the Angels Among Us - Dr. Greig, Dr. Jones, Trican, SC, LF, LC, LS, Unit 32P and friends at Bethany Collegeside. Donations in Gene's honor may be made to Catholic Social Services, West Central Region, 5104-48 Avenue, Red Deer, AB. T4N 3T8. A Memorial Service will be held at Crossroads, 38105 Range Rd. 275 on Thursday, May 7, 2009 at 11:30 am.
