Leslie Thomas
Leslie Curr passed away at the Olds Hospital on Sunday, October 18, 2009 at the age of 83 years. Leslie was born in Mirror, Alberta on Thursday, September 16, 1926 the eldest of seven children. He grew up in the Bashaw area where he farmed for his father. In 1953 Leslie met Grace Hill they were married Tuesday, December 21, 1954. Most of his life Leslie worked as an Oilfield Operator in the Eckville area. Leslie was known as the neighbourhood handyman and was able to fix just about anything. He enjoyed many hunting and fishing trips, especially the pack trips. His family will especially cherish family camping trips. Leslie is survived by his wife of 55 years Grace. He also leaves to mourn his children Jack (Nina), Shirley, Gary (Christine) and Norm (April). Leslie's memory will be especially cherished by his eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, along with his three sisters; Betty (Ken) Cookson, Doreen (Dean) Larson and Robyn (Bob) Robinson. Leslie is predeceased by his three brothers. A Memorial Service for Leslie was held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at Mountain View Funeral Chapel, 5226 - 46 Street Olds, Alberta T4H 1B8.
