KNIPE Lester Frank 1927 - 2009 Lester Frank Knipe was born in Innisfail, August 5, 1927. The oldest of two sons. In the spring of 1935 the family moved north west of Lacombe. In the spring of 1950, they moved south east of Red Deer where they stayed until 2001. Lester and Eleanor were married in 1965. Their union was blessed with 2 daughters, Barbara and Diane. Barbara and her husband Sean have 3 children, Adam, Christopher and Brittany. Diane and her husband Eric have 4 children, Caitlin, Jacob, Brett and Sarah. In 2001 due to declining health of Lester and Eleanor they left the farm and moved to Innisfail. In June 2009 due to Lester’s failing health, he was moved into Extended Care. He passed away at Rosefield Extended Care Facility at the age of 82 with his wife and family at his side. He leaves to mourn his wife Eleanor, his 2 daughters, his son-in-laws and numerous grandchildren. He was predeceased by his father Harold in February of 1990 and his mother Jessie in August of 1992. A Memorial Service will be held at Innisfail Alliance Church, 4804 - 42 Avenue, Innisfail on Tuesday October 20, 2009 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations in Lester’s name can be made to the charity of one’s choice. Like those we love, a candle burns bright, guiding and comforting us with its light. Even after the candle has been extinguished, we can still feel the warmth of its flame and remember how it flickered and danced with the tiniest breath of air.
