LEYEN On July 23, 2006 Colleen Elenora Leyen (nee Garven), age 71, went home to be with the Lord. She is predeceased by her son Donald Neil in 1994 and will be sorely missed by her loving husband Peter of 49 years, her daughter-in-law Cathy Leyen, son Peter Douglas (Nancy), Darryl (Kellie) Leyen and the four grandchildren she doted on. Her grandchildren especially adored their Nana and loved to spend time with her. Her memories will survive on through us. As she goes on to walk with the Lord, we are comforted by the fact that she is now home with Jesus. It is rare to find a wonderful woman of the quality and integrity of Colleen; she always had an incredibly giving and loving nature and was to some degree a mother to us all. When she touched a life it was always with love, leaving a profound impact. There will never be a tally on the number of lives she touched, it would be too vast a number. There will be an open casket viewing on Thursday, July 27th, 2006 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, 6287–67A Street, Red Deer. Funeral services for the Late Colleen Leyen will be conducted on Friday, July 28, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. from CrossRoads Church, 38105 Range Rd 275, Red Deer County (on 32 Street, west of Highway # 2), with Pastor Stan Schalk, from Potters Hands Ministry officiating.
