Lillian ABEL

ABEL Lillian F. Abel was born in Calgary on April 9, 1916 to James and Elisabeth Petrie and passed away peacefully on February 1, 2006. Lil met Roy Abel and they were married on January 25, 1941. Their daughter Lillian was born in 1942 and Carol was born in 1947. In 1952 the family moved to Red Deer and here is where the Abel's called home. Lil was very involved in her community, teaching Sunday School and Girl Guides at Gaetz United Church. She was also a lifetime member of the Royal Purple and held the position of Honoured Royal Lady. Lil was also the best Avon Lady ever! (Personal Opinion). Lil's memory will be cherished by her son-in-law, Ben Kobi, granddaughters; Brenda (Brad) Wolokoff and Tracy (Kelly) Volker and five great grandchildren, grandsons; Kevin and Michael Osborne, sister-in-law, Helen McLeod, Lil and Roy's chosen daughter, Jackie (Ken) Malcolm and their daughter, Shannon. Lil was predeceased by her parents, her loving husband and her daughters; Lillian Kobi and Carol Osborne and grandson, Darcy Malcolm. A Funeral Service will be held at the Red Deer Funeral Home (6150-67 Street) on Tuesday, February 7, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at the Alto-Reste Cemetery.
