LINEHAM 1931- 2009 Shirley Dolores, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Friday, January 9th, 2009 at the age of 77 years after a year long battle with cancer. At her bedside, Shirley was surrounded by the love of her five daughters and her little bird, Buddy. She was graciously cared for by her long time family physicians Dr. Cowie and Dr. Radomsky as well as Dr. Thiessen and the staff of Units 31 & 32. Born October 26th, 1931 in North Battleford, Saskatchewan, Shirley and her older brother, Donald were the only children born to Donald and Adeline Costello. In 1947, Don, Adeline and Shirley moved to Ladner, BC. At the age of sixteen Shirley struck out on her own moving to Field, B.C., on to Calgary and then up to Devon where she met, William Thomas (Ted) Lineham. Ted and Shirley were married August 26th, 1951 and moved to Saskatchewan where they lived in various communities for 6 years while Ted worked the pipeline. They then returned to Alberta, living in Drayton Valley, Edmonton and settled in Pincher Creek, where they started the Pincher Creek Shell Bulk Station, bought into the Pincher Creek Farm Equipment and also farmed cattle. In her younger years, Shirley was an accomplished Majorette in a Marching Band and loved long distance running. She was a devoted wife and mother, who loved her family, friends, curling and dancing. She was involved in the Pincher Creek 4H Club with her daughters, and actively involved in building and organizing the Pincher Creek Rodeo Grounds. Shirley is survived by her daughters, Judy Lineham (Roy Taylor) of Sylvan Lake; Carol (Garry) Jones of Aldergrove, BC; Beverly (Dave) Hoffman of Red Deer; Terri (Beetle) Bailey of Okotoks; Dodie Lineham of Sylvan Lake; her son Tom (Sue) of Hinton; her brother, Donald (Delores) Hoff of Cold Lake; her nephews Doug, Darrell and Darcy Hoff of Cold Lake; and her little bird, Buddy. Grand/Great Grand Children: Trina, Kim, Tayla and Hayden Hampton of Turner Valley; Sean McLaughlin and son Keagen Ball of Calgary; Cherise Lineham (Allister Daniel) of Calgary; Carrie, Craig, Danica and Tristyn Arseneault; Christina Jones (Tom Kettering); Chelsey Jones all of Aldergrove, BC; Janis, Brad, Kayana and Mercedee Stolson of Brooks; Derrick (Mala) Lee of Calgary; Michelle, Tim, Alexa, Emilie and Nathan Verrier of Brooks; Sabrina Bailey of Okotoks; Isleana Bailey (Philippe Gallou) of Calgary; Amy Lajeunesse, Sarah-Rose, Kaylie and Connor Hawkings of Red Deer; Justin Fenech (Krista Sawatsky) of Sylvan Lake; Stephanie Lajeunesse of Sylvan Lake; and Jessica Lineham of Hinton. Shirley was predeceased by her parents, Donald and Adeline Costello of Edmonton; grandson John McCandless of Red Deer; and nephew Danny Hoff of Cold Lake. A memorial service will be held at Eventide Funeral Chapel at 4820-45th Street, Red Deer, Alberta on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at 11:00 am. Immediately following the service, a Celebration of Life will be held at the Club Sierra (Master Piece Aspen Ridge) 3100 -22nd Street, Red Deer, Alberta, in the games room 2nd floor.
