Lois Victoria Vogel Lois Victoria Vogel was born on May 24, 1933 in Ponoka, Alberta and passed away on March 30, 2009 in Ponoka, Alberta at the age of 75 years. Lois was the youngest of three children born to Elsie and Delbert Merrill. Lois was raised and schooled in the Seafield District where the family was very active in the community. Lois met and married Frank Vogel and together they raised four children. They continued to make Ponoka their home and in doing so made many friends in the community. Lois is survived by her husband, Frank Vogel; sons, Dwayne (Lorraine), Rick (Heather), Roger (Donna) and daughter, Charlene (Gary); grandchildren: Leah, Colleen, Collette, Jordan, Megan and Ryan; sister, Ruth (George) Cole; brother, Delbert Bud (Donna) Merrill; sisters-in-law, Agnes Vogel and Helen Vogel; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A Prayer Vigil was held at the St. Augustines Catholic Church on Thursday, April 2, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial took place at St. Augustines Catholic Church on Friday, April 3, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Krzysztof Sobanski presiding. Interment followed in the Forest Home Cemetery. Memorial donations are gratefully accepted to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta or to the Kidney Foundation.
