Lola BENJAMIN

BENJAMIN Lola Benjamin of Red Deer passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Saturday, May 28, 2005 at the age of 66 years. Lola was born in Didsbury on January 2, 1939. She took her schooling in Bancroft and Didsbury and then married Roy Benjamin. She worked as a hairdresser at Valley Park Manor for many years. Lola enjoyed many activities such as golfing and she was very proud of her hole in one. She also enjoyed ceramics and taught this craft to others. Lola loved square dancing and she and Roy had a great time participating in this together. Lola also travelled extensively and everywhere she went she made friends easily and kept them forever. Lola will be greatly missed by numerous lifelong friends. She lived life to fullest and touched the hearts of many people. Lola will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 48 years, Roy Benjamin, one son, Rick (Lisa) Benjamin of Red Deer, one daughter, Sherri (Stephen) Spencer of Toronto and four grandchildren; Rion, Alexandra, Rebecca (Shaun) and Dustin. She is also survived by one brother, Randy (Phylis) Pross of Lacombe and numerous nieces and nephews. Lola was predeceased by her parents; Howard and Nettie Pross and an infant sister, Sheila. A Memorial Service will be held at the Red Deer Funeral Home (6150 – 67 Street) on Wednesday, June 1, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Lola Benjamin can do so to the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre, Unit 32 Palliative Care (Box 5030 Stn Postal Box Ctr, Red Deer, Alberta, T4N 9Z9) or to the Canadian National Institute for the Blind (Box 32002 Stn Brm B, Toronto, Ontario, M7Y 5R2).
