Long HOAG

HOAG Long time Canyon resident, Ken Hoag passed away peacefully on May 3, 2009 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease at the age of 79 years. Ken was born in Calgary, AB. on April 27, 1930. As a child his family moved to Rimbey, AB where he was educated and met and married his wife, Rose Marie. Ken was a businessman and an entrepreneur. His many occupations and ventures eventually brought him and his family to the Creston Valley in 1969 where he purchased an orchard in Canyon. He retired back to his beloved farm in 1989 where he enjoyed golfing, curling, traveling and observing nature. Over the years, he contributed to the community by serving on several boards and was a long time member of the Lions Club. Ken will be dearly missed by his wife Rose, children Joanne, Gerrie and Allen, grandchildren Geordon and Rachel, sisters Bette and Jacquie and brother Barry, as well as many nieces and nephews. He will be remembered for his graciousness, gentle smile and quiet kindness and will be sadly missed by all. A Private Family Celebration of Life Service to be held at a later date.
