Long PECHARSKY

PECHARSKY Long time Lacombe resident Steve Pecharsky, died on Monday August 7, 2006 of complications of heart disease. He was 76 years old. An active member of the community for more than 50 years, Steve was known for his love of gardening, animals and sports. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was always willing to lend a hand to a neighbor in need. Born in Wakaw, Saskatchewan on January 1, 1930, Steve was the sixth of nine children born to Wasyl (William) and Parasha (Pauline) Pecharsky. He is survived by his daughter Gayle Pickett, her husband Gary and their children Heather and James, as well as his son Greg, his wife Dawn and their children Nicole and Eric, all of Lacombe Steve is also survived by his sisters Mary Pecharsky and Rose Pecharsky of Edmonton, his brother Paul (Betty) of Edmonton, his brother Peter (Bev) of Calgary, his sister's-in-law Kathleen, Edmonton, and Lil of Rimbey, Alberta. Steve is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and many members of his wife's extended family, all of whom he loved dearly. Steve was predeceased by his wife Linnie Pecharsky (Brown) in 1995, his parents and brothers, George, Mike, Bill and John. A celebration of Steve's life will be held at Wilson's Funeral Chapel, Lacombe, AB on Monday August 14th, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. A private family interment will follow at a later date.
