Lorna Mary
Lorna had a surprised attack with cancer, but through God's grace, a rapid departure. She passed away peacefully on the morning of March 7, 2014. She was born on April 6, 1930 in Leith, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland. Lorna met her loving husband, Stewart Smith, in 1947, became engaged in 1948 and were married in 1950. They were blessed with the birth of one son, Malcolm Stewart Smith, on June 27, 1953. On July 5, 1958 they moved to Canada. Lorna was a very active lady and loved bicycling, bird watching, fishing, flowers, cats and walking her dogs. She helped others through nursing, enjoyed telling stories to children and Sunday School students, and dedicated thirty five years to serving with the Girl Guides organization. Lorna is survived by her husband Stewart Smith, Daughter-in-law Leah Smith and two Grandchildren, Michelle and Michael. Lorna was predeceased by her parents Alfred and Mary Johnson Hill and by her son Malcolm in March 8, 2010. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alix FCSS or Alix food bank.
