Lorna YOUNG

YOUNG Lorna Patricia Young of Red Deer passed away at the Red Deer Nursing Home on May 10, 2005 at the age of 78 years. Lorna was born in Ottawa on February 21, 1927 to Dennis and Daisy Hayes. She married Gordon Young and spent many years travelling around with him as he was in the air force. After retirement Lorna and Gordon vacationed in Hawaii a total of eight times. Lorna was an avid gardner and she enjoyed knitting and crocheting, donating a lot of her goods to hospitals and charities. She also spent time volunteering with the AIDS Network and was an active member of the CrossRoads Church. She cherished her grandchildren and loved spending time with them. She will be greatly missed by all her family. Lorna will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Gordon Young of Red Deer, two sons; Robert (Jennifer) Young of Penhold and Dennis (Lynn) Young of Calgary, one daughter, Mary Lou Cwiklewich of Penhold, seven grandchildren; Lindsay, Carolyn (Ken), Geoffrey, James, Andrew, Emily and Michael as well as one great granddaughter, Madison. She also leaves to mourn her loss, one brother, Dinny (Enid) Hayes of Ottawa along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Jim. A Funeral Service will be held at the CrossRoads Church (Corner of 32 Street and Highway 2) on Friday, May 13, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Alto-Reste Cemetery.
