SMULAND

Lorne

May 20, 1934 - Sept.11, 2014

Lorne Dennis Smuland, loving husband of Sharon Rose Smuland, passed away peacefully at Innisfail, Alberta, on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at the age of 80 years. Lorne was born in Yorkton, Saskatchewan and lived in Vancouver, British Columbia, Kelowna, British Columbia, Calgary, Alberta, Edmonton, Alberta and Red Deer, Alberta. Lorne loved spending time with family, friends and was a lover of dogs and cats. Lorne will always be remembered for his zest for life and nature; as well as his ability to make people laugh, despite his disabilities. Lorne loved German Short-Haired Pointers, all animals, the Legion, his walks, golf, his favorite B.C. Lions, baseball, hockey and his beloved cartoons. He was an amazing chef and baker and his love of good food had a way of bringing family together. Dad would want to be remembered and his life celebrated with a small smash, a glass of red wine, a laugh and tell stories, eat cake or pie, a chocolate bar, a banana split, fish and chips, and a donut. So celebrate his life and accomplishments. He's at peace and not suffering any longer. John 16:22 Psalm 16:11 Love always. xo xo "I did it my way." Lorne will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Sharon; his three children, Shelly Divorski, grandson, Kalvin Divorski, granddaughter, Ashley Divorski, great grandson, Tycesen and Bailey, the dog; his daughter, Shannon Holowaychuk, son-in-law, Darcy Holowaychuk and grandson, Kyle of Edmonton, son, Lorne Jr. and Sharon (nee Allen). He will also be sadly missed by his sister, June Morris and family of Calgary, his sister-in-law, Lila Smuland of Nanaimo, British Columbia and family, his forever friends, Lynn and Wally Spence and families of Calgary and Ken Angevine and family. Lorne was predeceased by his mother and father, Emily and William Smuland and his brothers, Al and Floyd, his German Short-Haired Pointers, Rusty and Duke and his Siamese cats, Ceasar and Julius.
