Louise LOCKHART

LOCKHART Louise Hoppins Lockhart passed away suddenly and peacefully at her home in Edmonton on Monday, July 7, 2008 at the age of 54 years. Louise is survived by her son, Justin, his father, Joseph Lockhart, her parents, Norman and Mildred Hoppins, two brothers, Dennis and Yvonne Hoppins of Huxley, John and Brenda Hoppins of Huxley, four sisters, Gwen and Edward Meding of Hinton, Donna and Ted Dreeshen of Pine Lake, Gail and Thomas Campbell of Drumheller, Jeanette and Warren Ferguson of Red Deer, 19 nieces and nephews and 10 great nieces and nephews. Louise was predeceased by one nephew, Scott Hoppins on July 8, 1998. After graduating from high school, Louise received her RN in Nursing from the Holy Cross School of Nursing in Calgary. She worked as a nurse for a short time before she was stricken with Multiple Sclerosis. After a year of rehabilitation and hard work Louise returned to school and studied at the University of Alberta and received a Bachelor of Arts degree. Louise's passion for learning continued as she pursued her Master's degree while working full time for the Government as an Employment and Training Services Sr. Program Planner. Her perseverance and hard work were rewarded when she received her Master's degree from the University of Alberta in 2004. In addition to her work and continuing education, Louise was a dedicated Mom. She was involved in Justin's school events, and was his Biggest Fan at hockey, baseball and soccer games. The M.S. continued with its ups and downs but steadily worsened. Despite her deteriorating condition over the last few years, she was resilient and continued to pursue her passions. She never lost interest in her family, world events or her favorite sports' teams. Louise will be fondly remembered by her family and friends and forever admired for the remarkable accomplishments in her life. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers on Thursday evening at the St. Anne of the Prairies Catholic Church, Trochu. A Funeral Mass for Louise will be celebrated at St. Anne of the Prairies Catholic Church, Trochu on Friday, July 11, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. If friends so desire, Memorial tributes may be made directly to the MS Society of Central Alberta, 4807 50 Ave. Suite 105, Red Deer, AB T4N 4A5.
