Luella Gertrude

Luella slipped peacefully into the presence of the Lord on August 17, 2014 in Three Hills, AB, following a brief illness. Luella was born to Isaac and Gertrude Schroeder on November 21, 1923 at their farm near Main Centre, Sask the 14th of 16 children. She Graduated from High School in Herbert Saskatchewan and then took teacher's training in Regina. After teaching for one year at Ebenezer, Sask, she spent three years in religious studies, graduating from Canadian Bible College (Regina) in 1947. Later that same year she married the love of her life, H. Theodore (Ted) Epp. They were each other's "best friend" for over 67 years. During the 1950's, two daughters, Beverley and Brenda were born. Luella moved with her husband as his job demanded, living in Winnipeg, Regina, Swift Current, Calgary and back to Regina. Luella loved singing, sewing, and working in her kitchen, and family was a high priority for her. She blessed many with the work of her hands. In her mid-30's she went thru two surgeries for breast cancer. That she survived, is a miracle of God and a testimony to her courage. In 1972 a move to Kelowna was made to begin what became a successful business - Dorella Sewing Centre. Retirement brought a move to Abbotsford in 1988 and then to Red Deer in 1995 to be close to both daughters and their families. May 26th this year they moved to Golden Hills Lodge in Three Hills. She left us unexpectedly and we will miss her. She was predeceased by all of her siblings. Luella will be lovingly remembered by her husband Ted, her two daughters, Beverley (Roger) McIver and Brenda (Don) Pearsall-Jansen, 7 Grandchildren, Paul (Chantelle) McIver, Bryan (Lisa) McIver, Leanne (Colin) Axelsen, Chad (Chantrelle) Pearsall, Amy McIver, Branden (Tiffany) Pearsall and Tyson (Janessa) Pearsall, as well as 10 Great-Grandchildren, and numerous extended family. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:30pm on Monday, August 25th, 2014 at Deerpark Alliance Church in Red Deer, AB. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Gideon's Bible Society. Internment will be in Three Hills.
