Lydia HINTZ

HINTZ Lydia Hintz passed away peacefully on January 2, 2007 after a heart attack on Christmas Day. She was born May 21, 1922 to Gustov and Bertha Knopp in Hay Lakes, Alberta. While growing up on the farm during the depression and managing her family through the war years with her husband overseas she acquired many skills. Lydia didn't just do something, she excelled at everything she did. She became an avid gardener, an amazing cook, a talented quilter, seamstress and woodworker. She loved music and would gladly play the piano or guitar with her family. Lydia leaves to mourn three children, daughter Marge (Jack) Suddards of Lacombe, son Brian (Mila) of Calgary, and a daughter Donna (Laurie) Sandberg of Red Deer. She leaves behind six grandchildren, Laurie (Wayne) Andrews of Calgary, Allan Suddards of Red Deer, Leanne (Andrew) Schell of Kingston, Ont., Christy (Nathan) Trescher of Moose Jaw, Sask., Kristin and Jonathan Hintz of Calgary, and two great-grandchildren Ian and Emma Andrews of Calgary. She was predeceased by Alex, her husband of 64 years, in 2004, and her infant son Harvey. She enjoyed many happy times at the Westpark Lodge in Red Deer where she resided for the past two years. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 8, 2007 at 2:00 pm at Evergreen Funeral Chapel, 16204 Fort Road.
