PORTER, Lyle Robert Nov. 19, 1944 - Jan. 17, 2008 Lyle Robert Porter beloved husband of Faye Porter of Red Deer, passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Thursday, January 17, 2008 at the age of 63 years. Lyle was born on November 19, 1944 at Melfort, Saskatchewan. He married the love of his life Faye (nee Dancey) on May 14, 1966. Lyle was a project manager in various oilfield endeavors for many years, allowing him to travel all over Alberta, Manitoba and Ontario. He loved his family especially his grandchildren, playing patio hockey with the boys and having tea parties with the girls. Lyle instilled a kindness, loyalty and devotion that has been passed from his children to grandchildren and will continue on for the years to come. His personal philosophy was to "Be Kind To Others Always". Lyle will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by his loving wife of forty-one years, Faye, his two daughters, Haeley (David), Paige (Kevin), a son, Vance (Tamara), six grandchildren, Greydon, Tori, Ella, Cai, Noah and Lauren, a brother Selby (Annette), two nieces, Melanie (Gord), Reneè (Robin), step mother-in-law, Donalda Dancey, three brothers-in-law, Jim (Donna) Dancey, Don (Vivian) Dancey, David (Anna) Dancey and numerous other family and friends. He was predeceased by his father Warren in 1948, his mother, Mary in 1992. "He loved life. His impact on others will not be forgotten." A Funeral Service will be held at Gaetz Memorial United Church, 4758 Ross Street, Red Deer on Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. Cremation entrusted to Central Alberta Crematorium, Interment to be held in Star City, Saskatchewan at a later date.
