Lynn Ann McNish
January 23, 1940 - October 12, 2017
Lynn McNish (Lewis) passed away quietly in her home in Sylvan Lake, Alberta on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at the age of 77.
Lynn was born in Provost, Alberta to parents' Ab and Hattie Lewis. Larry McNish and Lynn were married on August 18, 1958 in Edmonton, where they made their home. They traveled to Australia for work and adventure in 1963, returning home the next year in anticipation of the birth of their daughter, Kathy. Their son, Rob, followed two years later.
The family moved to Calgary in 1971 where Larry managed the hardware department at Woodward's and Lynn worked at the Calgary Credit Bureau. In 1977, Larry and Lynn started their own business, McNish Marketing, and they worked and traveled together until retiring to Sylvan Lake, Alberta and Manzanillo, Mexico.
Her family greatly enjoyed weekends together in Banff National Park and vacations at her parents' cabin at Dillberry Lake. Lynn was committed to her morning swim in the ocean in Manzanillo, and she actively pursued many charitable and community endeavors, including animal rescue, the Red Hatters and Rotary Club.
Lynn leaves to mourn her: her loving husband Larry; her two children, Kathy McNish and Rob (Irina); her two brothers, Denys (Patricia) and Gord (Barb); her four grandchildren, Jocelyn Rama, Dylan Rama (Sarah), Carter and Jessica McNish; her brothers- and sisters-in-law Jim McNish, Bonnie MacArthur (Peter), and Ken McNish; and her six nieces and nephews, Jason Lewis (Erica), Sean Lewis (Chantelle), Shannon Lewis (Claudio), Jamie Bourdon (Dan), Troy MacArthur, and Stephen Jackson.
A celebration of Lynn's life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 212, at 4916 - 50th Avenue, Sylvan Lake, Alberta, on Saturday, October 21st, 2017 between 1:00 and 4:00 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes in Lynn's honor may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada www.mssociety.ca.
