MACHAN

MACHAN (Nee Cummerford) 1936 - 2009 Mary Ann Machan passed away after a brief battle with cancer at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Saturday, January 24, 2009 at the age of 72 years. Mary Ann was raised and attended school in Leslieville and then moved to Red Deer with her family. She was a dedicated employee with Chrysler Canada for 30 years and established many life long friendships. Her retirement was filled with many games of curling in Red Deer and Sylvan Lake where many friendships were made. Mary Ann enjoyed travelling, camping and watching her grandson play hockey and lacrosse, she was his number one fan. Her career and family were always her priority. Mary Ann will be cherished and fondly remembered by her loving husband of 52 years, Arnold Machan, two sons, Randy (Roseann) Machan and Pat Machan, her loving grandchildren Janelle, Amanda (Matt) and Brendan, great grandchildren, Jack & Luke, Aunt Ina Bourke, her sister Jean (Austin) Ward, sister in-law Merrilyn Cummerford all from Red Deer, Alberta, brothers-in-law, Vern (Gail) Machan of Edmonton, Ron (Carol) Machan of Sylvan, sister-in-law Bev (Tom) Pinder of Calgary, Rhoda Anderson, Marlene Kaufmann (Cec), Joyce Ramsbury (Harold), Joanne (Harold) Spenceley all of Ontario, as well as numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins. Mary Ann is predeceased by her parents Pat and Joyce Cummerford, a brother, Jack Cummerford, nephews, Brent Cummerford, Todd Kirkham, Stephen Kirkham as well as brothers-in-law Ken Anderson, Doug Kirkham, Ken Kaufman, Barry Frizell and sister-in-law, Marquerite Frizell. A memorial service in Mary Ann's honour will be held at Eventide Funeral Chapel, 4820 - 45 Street, Red Deer, Alberta on Friday, January 30, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
