MacLEAN Betty Viola (nee Morse) Sept. 13, 1932 - June 21, 2007 Betty passed away peacefully in her home at Trochu, Alberta. Betty was born in Elnora and raised on the Morse farm east of Elnora. She met and married Hugh MacLean June 8, 1953. They settled on Hugh's farm east of Huxley where they raised their family of five children. In 1980 they sold the farm to the Provincial Government to become the Dry Island Buffalo Jump and retired to the Town of Trochu. Betty's biggest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. She will be lovingly remembered by her family: Ken (Lorraine), Trochu, AB, Wayne, Stettler, AB, Debra, Camrose, AB, Janice (Greg) Laverty, Castor, AB, and Carla (Rob Omoth), Camrose, AB. Including her grandchildren: Veronika MacLean, Lisa (Ken) Reinsch-Johnson, James Reinsch, Kathleen and Elizabeth Laverty. Also, her great grandchildren Zander, Gavin and Emanuel Reinsch-Johnson. She is also survived by her siblings: Gladys Pennock, Eva (Dave) Pennock, Grace (Leo) Duft, June Lutz and George (Elaine) Morse, sister-in-law Anne de Wolfe, brothers-in-law Alan MacLean and Bill (Laura) MacLean. Numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. Betty was predeceased by her husband Hugh MacLean in 2000; her parents, John and Edith Morse; sisters Ella Guard and Dolly McKnight; and brothers Jack and Arthur Morse. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, June 28, 2007 at 1:00 pm. at St. Paul's United Church, Trochu, Alberta. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Trochu Fire Department, St. Paul's United Church or Alberta Heart and Stroke Foundation.
