MADSEN 1927 – 2006 Mr. Eric Madsen passed at the age of 79 years. Eric leaves to cherish his memory his wife of fifty years, Kay; his children, Laura (Dave) Verigan of Parksville, British Columbia, Ken Madsen of Red Deer, Shannon Hunter of Calgary, Calvin (Jayne) Madsen, Clayton (Donna) Madsen, and Cameron (Lynne) Madsen, all of Red Deer, and Kent Madsen of Medicine Hat; fifteen grandchildren, Wesley, David, Neil, Jason, Thomas, Randy, Eric, Tammy, Jade, Michael, Ashton, Savannah, Phillip, Dana and Haylie; two great grandchildren, Natasha and Cailee; and one sister, Else Jorgensen of Denmark. Eric was predeceased by nine brothers and sisters. Eric was born in Odense, Denmark and immigrated to Canada in 1950. As a young man in Abbey, Saskatchewan he worked as a bartender before moving to Alberta and working in the oil patch. After settling in Medicine Hat, Eric was a driver for McMillan Transport until his retirement. Eric enjoyed travelling, visiting his family and coffee time with friends at the Truck Stop and Dairy Queen. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, #1 Dunmore Road SE, on Monday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., and on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 12 Noon. The Graveside Service will be held at HILLSIDE CEMETERY, Gershaw Drive and 10th Avenue S.W. Medicine Hat, on Tuesday, October 17th, 2006, at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Loren Hosfield officiating.
