Malcolm BLACKMORE

August 30, 2007

BLACKMORE Malcolm Warren 1934 - 2007 Born on his farm on May 24, 1934 near Blackfalds, Alberta, Mike spent his life in the local area. Mike was married to Georgia Atkinson on August 10, 1959 and raised three children, Bruce, Tim and Christina. Mike worked on the farm for most of his life as well as various jobs. Mike became the proprietor of the Pacific 66 Gas Station and managed the station until his retirement. All those who knew Mike well, knew that Mike was a caring and friendly person, who made many friends in his years of work at the gas station. Mike also spent several years helping out at Bruce's True Value Hardware Store in Ponoka, again making many friends in the area. Mike enjoyed nothing better than his favorite activities of fishing, hunting, making music and going for coffee. Combining these was even better. Mike contributed his energy, his warmth and genuine liking for people to the communities over the years and will be sorely missed by his friends and family. Mike was pre-deceased by his parents, Richard and Arzella Blackmore and his brothers Gordon and Dale. He is survived by his sister, Freda Ball and his sister's in law, Gwen Blackmore and Lois Blackmore. Donations may be made in his memory to the Alzheimer's Society. A memorial service will be held at the Kozy Korner in Lacombe on Wednesday, September 5th at 2:00 pm with a luncheon to follow.
