She was in excellent health until the end and was waiting for the spring flowers to bloom and robins to return to their nests in her back yard.
On July 21, 1948 she married William Harvey Berry at Sylvan Lake, Alberta. She was a long-time resident of Red Deer and area, except for the 2 years that she lived in Doha, Qatar with her son Dale, his wife Anabelle and granddaughter Joanna. Mom often looked after foster children to supplement the family income. She also worked at the Club Cafe, where she developed lifetime friendships with her Chinese co-workers. She also worked at Sunnybrook Convenience Store for many years.
For the last 15 years, she lived with her son William, his wife Sally and her grandson William. In her grandson Jordie's words: she was an amazing woman, so selfless and willing to help everyone with anything she could. She will be missed. She had an open door and heart not only for all her children and grandchildren but strangers in need.
She often said that "A stranger is someone that I have not met yet."
