Mrs. Margaret Christine 'Marg' Buckley (nee Hovey) passed away at the Stettler Hospital and Care Centre, Stettler, Alberta on Sunday, June 1, 2014 at the age of 81 years. Marg was born on December 21, 1932 at Hanna, Alberta; the third child of eight in the Helmer and Mary Hovey family. She lived her life in the Trenville and Lousana Areas of Alberta. Marg was welcomed into the Buckley Family when she married Cornelius Henry 'Buck', 'Con' Buckley in 1952. The couple had two children; Beverly and Stanley while living on the homestead. They moved to their farm in 1959; where Marg remained until this spring. Marg worked side by side with Con on the farm. They loved to dance, curl, play ball and cards, and loved being with family and friends. Marg loved her family with all her heart and was a loyal friend. She liked to cook - but loved to bake. There were always cookies in the cookie jar. She baked and decorated many cakes and wedding cakes. Marg also did a variety of crafts, sewing and volunteering. She always had a huge garden with flowers and enjoyed sharing the bounty. After her husband, Con passed away in 1986, Marg and her friend, Gladys joined the Laft Hus. She enjoyed learning about her Norwegian Heritage and made exceptional hardenger pieces, rosemaling, crafts, painting, baking and cooking. Marg will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Beverly (Owen) Jestin and her son, Stanley (Wanda) Buckley, her grandsons, Travis (Taya) Jestin, Scott (Vanessa) Buckley, Ryan Buckley and Curtis (Katherine) Jestin and great grandchildren, Taliyah, Tristen and Tatum Buckley and Korbin and Mikayla Jestin. She will also be sadly missed by her siblings, Edna Knights, Edward (Jean) Hovey, Norman (Deanna) Hovey, Mildred (Hugh) Leblanc and Doris Hovey; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, friends and all their families. Marg was predeceased by her husband, Con and many other loved ones. Relatives and Friends are invited to come and pay their respects at Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, 6287 - 67 A Street (Taylor Drive), Red Deer, Alberta on Sunday, June 8, 2014 between the evening hours of 7:00 and 9:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at the Lousana Community Hall, Lousana, Alberta on Monday, June 9, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. A Private Family Interment will be held at the Lousana Cemetery, Lousana, Alberta. If desired, Memorial Donations in Marg's honor may be made directly to the Lending Cupboard at 5406 - 43 Street, Red Deer, Alberta, T4N 1C9. The Family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Marg's family and friends, her caregivers at Elnora and Stettler Homecare, Paragon Place and the Stettler Hospital and Care Centre.
