Miss Margaret Janet Elliot passed away on Dec 23, 2009 at the Stettler Heritage House after a brief illness. She leaves to mourn her passing her sister-in-law, Violet Elliot of Red Deer. She was the dear Aunt of Rob (Sheila), David (Sharon), Neil (Faith), Alastair (Deanna) and their families. Margaret was predeceased by her parents James and Margaret Elliot, and her siblings, Walter, Jim, Nancy and Alison. Margaret was born at the homestead and her early years of schooling and her high school education was obtained in a one room school house in Spondon, Alberta. Margaret was Post Master at the Coronation Post Office for many years and was an active member of community organizations. She was an integral part of Trinity United Church, the Red Cross, a Life member of the Ladies Auxiliary Royall Canadian Legion, and a member of the Castor Order of the Eastern Star. After her retirement from the Post Office in 1978, she volunteered on a regular basis with the Coronation Library. She was proud of her work at the Library. She left Coronation and moved to Stettler to join her sisters. A memorial service will be held at Trinity United Church, Coronation, Alberta on Saturday, January 16, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. In the time scale of eternity we lived here for just a little while."
