Marg Harper of Red Deer, AB passed away on July 17, 2019 at Red Deer Regional Hospital at the age of 59 after a long battle with cancer.
Marg was born in Calgary, AB on September 18, 1959. She was raised on the family farm near Caroline. She was married in 1978 to Kevin Harper and together they raised 4 children. In 2005, Marg moved to Red Deer and in 2007 she graduated from Red Deer College with a Diploma in Social Work. Marg worked at the Kerrywood Nature Center where she was able to combine her love of nature and photography. She also enjoyed birdwatching, camping and spending time with her grandchildren. Marg made it comfortable for people to be themselves around her. This made her especially good with children, who felt safe and loved in her care.
Marg is survived by her lifelong friend Kevin Harper; her children Amanda Harper (Matt); Dannielle Johnson; Michael Harper, his wife Cindy and grandchildren Ryley and Emma; Deryk Harper (Courtney) and grandchildren Deigan and Kennzyl; brother Eldon Raudebaugh (Dorothy); Sister Kathy Griffis (Bob); Sister Merrilyn Graham (Cleve); many nieces and nephews and special friend Garry VanderBaaren.
She was predeceased by her parents James Martin and Del Morrish and brother Douglas Martin.
A Funeral Services for Marg will be held at the Rocky Church of the Nazarene, Rocky Mountain House, on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at 1 pm. Interment to follow at the Pine Grove Cemetery.
