Margaret Larkin passed surrounded by family at the Red Deer Hospice at the age of 81.
Margaret was brought into this world on June 14, 1938 in the village of Alix Alberta, born to Annice Scott (nee Dickenson) and Samuel William Scott. Margaret grew up on the family farm with her only sibling Ronald Scott currently of Black Diamond, Alberta and attended school at the Stanton and Satinwood Schools.
Margaret spent her childhood running barefoot with Ronald through the countryside and doing
the things children of that time did. As a young lady Margaret learned the things that any woman of the time would need to know cooking, cleaning, sewing and running a household. She was hired by Nell Larkin to assists with housework at the Larkin farm and subsequently married George. Margaret and George lived the farming life and raised five children. Margaret often drove the grain trucks during harvest and was known as "Hank". While the farm was a primary fact of life Margaret found time for curling and thoroughly enjoyed Hockey and baseball.
She was predeceased by her first husband George Rodger Woodrow Larkin and her second husband David Alexander Larkin. Margaret leaves her five children Debra Lynn Wattie (Allan), Charleen Paish (Troy), Ronnie Larkin (Kathleen), Sheila May Bryant (Ronnie) and Tina Black (Bill). Numerous Grandchildren, Great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Margaret enjoyed travel in her senior years and took the trip of her lifetime to Australia and New Zealand, Dave and Margaret would often take drives in their blaze red "Hummer" through the Alberta countryside, a pastime they enjoyed. Take your rest mother it has been earned.
