Margaret RICARD

March 3, 2005

RICARD Margaret Ricard (nee Lowrie) of Red Deer passed away at Red Deer on February 25, 2005 at the age of 73 years. Margaret Lowrie was born and raised in the Lloydminster area where she met her loving husband, Raymond Ricard and started her family at age 19. After raising eight children she started a career in retail stores and eventually worked as a letter carrier at Canada Post. Marg and Ray then moved to Brightsand Lake and started their dream on a small farm. Ray’s diagnosis of diabetes made them decide to sell the farm and retire to the Grande Prairie area for several years before deciding to finally settle in Red Deer. Marg’s life was full of simple pleasures, first and foremost, the raising of her children but also included many activities like baseball and bowling. She was renown for her baking, crafts and the many things she created with her hands. Her smile showed the gentleness of her soul and her sharp wit portrayed her humour and her love of life. Margaret shall be truly missed and remembered by family and the many, many friends that she made everywhere she went. She leaves to mourn her loss, six children; Albert Ricard of Grande Prairie, Robin Ricard of Red Deer, Jody (Michelle) Ricard of Chemainus, British Columbia, Tim (Fran) Ricard of Red Deer, Dayle Ricard of Chemainus, British Columbia and Sandra (Ray) Gordon of Lloydminster, seven grand- children, six great grandchildren, and one brother, Jim Lowrie of Nashville, Tennessee. Margaret was predeceased by two sons; Terry Ricard in 1988 and Kelley Ricard in 2003, her parents; Rebecca and Orval Lowrie and one sister-in-law, Eron Lowrie. Funeral Services will be held at the Red Deer Funeral Home (6150 – 67 Street) on Friday, March 4, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. Condolences can be emailed to condolences@ reddeerfuneralome.com and will be forwarded directly to the family
