Margie MACKAY

MACKAY, Margie Mrs. Margie Lavina (Marge) MacKay, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Sunday, December 5, 2004 at the age of 85 years. Marge was born on March 2, 1919 at High Prairie, Alberta. She was a very wonderful and loving mother who invested a lifetime of love into raising her five children. Marge was a fabulous entertainer and loved to use her creativity making the most wonderful meals. Her cooking talents delighted her family and friends. Marge had exquisite taste and her presentation was always exceptional and very lovely. She was a very gracious and classy lady who knew exactly how to put the right outfit together, complete to the last detail. Marge was none-the-less an extremely hardworking woman and placed the same detail and importance on every aspect of her family, her life and her home. She was also a valued member of her community and will be remembered for her many years of help and contributions with the Alliance U.C.W., the I.O.D.E., the Royal Canadian Legion and the Eastern Star. Marge will be deeply missed but her wonderful spirit will be lovingly remembered and cherished in the hearts of her family and dear friends. Marge leaves to mourn her loss, her loving children, Grant (Bea) MacKay of Red Deer, Bonnie (Byron) Sobey of Edmonton, Alberta, Shirley (Murray) Hesje of Singapore, Stanley (Brenda) MacKay of Red Deer and Aneve (Dale) Lyons of Calgary, Alberta, her grandchildren, Steven (Pam) MacKay of Red Deer, Shauna Sobey of Edmonton, Alberta, Paula Hesje of Victoria, British Columbia, Scott Hesje and Collin MacKay, both of Calgary, Alberta, Craig MacKay of Blackfalds, Alberta and Mason and Saxon Lyons, both of Calgary and her great grandchildren, Jennifer and Nicolas MacKay of Red Deer and Jordan and Tia Sobey of Edmonton, Alberta. She will also be sadly missed by numerous other relatives and dear friends. Marge was predeceased by her mother, Rosalie Weaver and her father, Alonzo Weaver. A Celebration of Marge's Life will be held at Eventide Funeral Chapel, 4820 - 45th Street, Red Deer, Alberta on Friday, December 10, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. with the Reverend Doctor Fran Hare officiating. Cremation entrusted to the Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta.
